The making of Woman Math
Hello. My name is Nora. I'm a mechanical engineer in Massachusetts. Mom to a toddler and partner to a man with 12 fish tanks.
Woman Math has been created to celebrate Women in STEM. And to serve as a creative outlet.
The path to get here has been long and winding, but I don't regret a moment.
See a bit of history below.
A professional start as a fine artist.
Initially I graduated with a BFA. Post-graduation I spent a decade supporting myself as a fine artist. That was tough, and far from lucrative. Decided on pursing a new path in engineering while continuing to create art on my own terms.
Degree in Biomedical Engineering
During school I worked as both a mechanical and biomedical engineer. I soon discovered the unpredictability of biology and chemistry were not for me. Drawn to the concrete solutions of mechanical engineering, my career path was chosen. And so it was written.
